John Strand’s “Ten Mega Mobile Trends” and our answer “Open Mobile Economy Alliance”
mobiliser blog: Yesterday I gave a speech in Dublin with John Strand about the changes in the Mobile Economy. Today I receive Strand Consult’s newsletter titled "Ten Mega Trends Will Turn The Mobile Industry Upside Down". John is telling us about his view of our mobile future.
While John is an expert in foreseeing the future effects of voice and SMS MVNOs, I am more focused on Open Data MVNOs that help migrate the Mobile Economy to All-over-IP. So yesterday, at the Investnet Ireland event on the mobile trends in Europe and Asia, I talked about the 2 leading Mobile Economies on planet earth - Japan and Korea (my presentation as PDF). And then I finished with the story about our new startup project “OPEN Mobile Economy”. OPEN plans to open the Mobile Economy for All-over-IP with applications, MVNO deals, open phones and other data devices.
Tomorrow, I will tell you more about this in my 3GSM 2006 review. It was absolutely cool in Barcelona last week and we have been very productive in developing our ideas for the OPEN Mobile Economy and its role in enabling the Ubiquitous Digital Lifestyle. Our mission is to establish a Global Mobile Data Flat Rate Roaming Alliance. How does this sound? Still like a dream but the Open Mobile Economy Alliance makes sense for the consumers as it delivers more value for money. And that’s exactly what consumers want when migrating to the next generation of mobile services.
